Our Staff

Our staff are qualified, experienced role models who provide positive interaction and encouragement to the children.  We ensure staff are provided opportunities for continued learning and development in order to keep their skills up to date.

Our setting is limited to a maximum of 24 children and each staff member is assigned as Key Person to keep records of a child's development progress. Staff meet regularly with parents and welcome suggestions and comments. Confidentiality is respected and practiced.

Katie Oliver
Deputy Manager

My name is Katie and I am Deputy Manager at the Pre-School.  I have a vast knowledge of the EYFS curriculum since working in a pre-school and day nursery in London for over 10 years. I have a particular interest in Special Educational Needs and mentoring the team in the Early Years curriculum. I’ve completed  an NVQ Level 4 in Children’s Care Learning and Development and am furthering my training by completing my Level 5 leading into a Degree in Childcare. I'm a patient, kind person and I strive to make sure children are at the heart of everthing we do at Piglets.

Liz Palfreman
Play Assistant Level 2 (Trainee)

My name is Liz and I'm working towards my level 2 in Children's and Young People. I was a childminder for many years and then trained to become a one to one support worker for a child at the setting. This has enabled me to understand how play assistants can support children with special educational needs. I am learning skills every day that I can apply with other children. My specialism is around being a lead professional in processes such as accessing Early Access funding or CAF applications. I'm learning more about the new Educational Health and Care Plan that I can prepare for children with special education needs going into school. I'm passionate about art and I'm very creative when it comes to planning activities!

Rhianon Deighton
Play Assistant Level 2 (Trainee)

My name is Rhiannon and I am working towards a level 2 in Children's and Young People NVQ. I am new to working in Early years and since joining Piglets have learnt so much about how important the right pre-school is for your children. My training is teaching me about how early years providers should be providing the important government curriculum and how we're regulated and inspected. I respect children as individuals and always make sure I have the time to listen and understand their needs. I have my own child that attended the setting before starting school. It is great to see the children learn new things and make friendships before going into school. My passion is animals, I have a very caring nature and adopt lots of pets!
