The Planning Board

We follow the EYFS, The Early Years Foundation Stage , the statutory framework that sets the standards that all Early Years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children are ready for school and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life. All providers are required to use the EYFS to ensure that whatever setting parents choose they can be confident theta their children will receive a quality experience that supports their development and learning.

EYFS specifies four overarching principles for the care and education from six months to the end of the reception year at school. These four themes are:

  • Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured

  • Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships

  • Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents/carer

  • Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. The framework covers the education and care of all the children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities.

What are the EYFS?

We need to form solid parent partnerships to help children learn and grow.

We involve parents in almost everything we do, we're here to support you too!

In Spring 2017 we will be sending you our annual parent survey which asks for honest feedback about the setting. Please take the time to complete it online as we really value the feedback to help us to help us improve but also to recognise what we're doing well.

We'll also be holding our termly parent consultations in October/November. Your child's keyworker will be in contact with you to arrange a mutually agreeable time.
